I do relate to the disappearing coffee. We’ve created 2 words to cover the options. Jubilaire to describe the moment when you thought the drink was gone but there’s a bit more on the cup and Desolaire (like desolate) to describe going to take the last mouthful & finding it’s already gone. My name is Claire so it’s desolate Claire…desolaire!!
That was a nice read. Got me thinking about scent memory. Especially now I can’t smell anything at the moment due to seasonal allergies. I got my own copy of A Brain That Breathes” so I can write in the margins and highlight. It will go back to it often.
I have a dream of living very slowly in a small village, surrounded by nature and open space, where you need to drive to the nearest town to get groceries, etc.
It may well never happen, but I've tried to approach living now with the same mindset. This means that I also errand stack (love the term!). I think it's also easier on the brain, there's less task switching. And a great sense of accomplishment when the items on the errand list are ticked off in one go!
Thanks as always Jodi, your words always make me exhale and soften. I took particular peace from your last paragraph on easy lunchboxes and simple dinners this week 💚
The coffee conundrum...I feel you! I've taken to making my coffee half decaf half full strength so I can have a second later in the morning. Haha!!! Thanks for a wholesome morning read.

I love this a lot. It's a small joy but it definitely makes you feel jubilant when there's one mouthful you had otherwise forgotten about x
That was a very soothing read. Thank you.
It was soothing to write so it makes me happy that you read it the same way x

I get seasonal allergies too and they're exhausting. Extra hydration definitely helps! x
