These are the words I repeat every hour of the day. Slowly, slowly, as children dripping wet from the pool tiptoe on tiles. It’s the tail end of the wet season in Bali and the humidity is sky high, it’s like walking in a sticky cloud. I haven’t worn makeup since we arrived and really, there’s no point - it slides right off. This is what happens here, all the unnecessary slides right off and you’re left with what matters.
