Okay, but I need to know if you liked Strangers, or not? I'm on the fence about reading it. So many people have loved it, but I worry it will feel like a voyeuristic look into a posh life I can't relate to. I need your review! x
I read it really quickly, I thought the narrative voice was strong, at times it read more like fiction than memoir because there were so many unbelievably ridiculous scenarios. I have written the same line in response to many people who have written about it/reviewed it: "I will never get over that sandwich!" Personally, I think you should read it, consider it a gossipy binge x
I so enjoy reading how others schedule their days! I have two questions, plesee.
What time do you switch off the light to go to sleep so you can get up so early?
And how on earth do you fit an exercise class, shower, lunch and emails into such a short amount of time? Do you speed eat and shower? Have you mastered the art of making making time stand still? Please share your magical ways 😊
I'm asleep by 9pm! And my exercise class (online) goes for 30 minutes, 15min shower + dress, 45minute lunch and emails (thankfully not too many emails at the moment) - plenty of time! x
Congrats on the reprinting of your book! Sydney Festival was amazing - fab talks were Amitav Gnosh and Sarah Wilson. And yes to Whistler - Bel Canto one of my fav books.
It’s singlet and sniffles in my home too. My youngest has just moved to a bigger size and I had a lovely time unpacking the singlets that I had embroidered for my older daughter. Simple bonds ones with a little rosebud. Cute and comforting.

Glowing reviews of Whistler everywhere! I thought Tom Lake was a bit mediocre so I'm looking forward to her return to form x

That Ann Patchett link was such a good read. Made my heart sing and break all at once. She's just so very good.
